The claws stayed put when Sarah Jessica Parker finally spoke up about Kim Cattrall’s upcoming cameo on “And Just Like That…”
The Post exclusively reported on May 31 that Cattrall would be returning as Samantha Jones in Season 2 of the Max series, which is set to premiere Thursday.
Now, Parker has declared Cattrall’s allegedly brief appearance was “really fun and exciting and certainly nostalgic,” according to a new Daily Mail report.
“It’s been a lot of joy,” Parker, 58, added.
Rumors of a catty “mean girls” feud between the “Hocus Pocus” alum and Cattrall, 66, have swirled for years.
Other members of the cast of the “Sex and the City” sequel series — including Kristin Davis (who plays Charlotte York) and Cynthia Nixon (who reprises her role as Miranda Hobbes) — have also broken their silence on Cattrall’s much-buzzed about return.
Davis, 58, told the Telegraph last week that while she understands that fans are upset Cattrall doesn’t have a bigger role in the spinoff, she doesn’t have any strong feelings about it.
“I’m not gonna waste energy on it. I can’t change anybody. I do understand fans’ feelings — that they’re upset … I wish I could fix it, but I can’t. It’s not in my power,” the “Couples Retreat” star said.
Meanwhile, Nixon, 57, had a lot to say about Cattrall’s shocking return, telling Vanity Fair in a candid new interview that the actress is “not something that we speak about.”
The “Gilded Age” actress then seemingly suggested Cattrall left the “SATC” cast “walking around on eggshells with someone who’s unhappy.”
Nixon also stressed that “AJLT” has a medley of characters who are dissimilar from the parent series.
“It felt very different also because we have these new amazing characters, and we’re older and our fictional children are now largely grown,” Nixon explained. “Many things felt different.”
She continued: “But the main thing that felt so great was that everybody who was there really wanted to be there. That’s just the bottom line. We all love each other, we love our show, we wanted to do more of it. And we all wanted to be there.”
When asked if she has been in touch with Cattrall about her return to the franchise, Nixon bluntly declared: “That is all I’m gonna say, I’m afraid. And that’s much more than I’ve ever said to anybody.”
Cattrall — whose new Netflix series “Glamorous” premieres June 22 — filmed her top-secret scene without seeing or talking to any members of the cast back in March at a parking garage at Silvercup Studios in Queens, where the original “Sex and the City” series was shot nearly two decades ago.
