Mark Cuban (born July 31, 1958) is an American billionaire entrepreneur, television personality, and media owner with an estimated net worth of $4.8 billion, according to Forbes.
He is ranked No. 177 on the 2020 Forbes 400 list. He is the co-owner of 2929 Entertainment and the owner of the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is also one of the main “shark” investors on ABC’s reality show Shark Tank.
On July 7, 1982, Cuban moved to Dallas, Texas, where he worked as a bartender at Elan on Greenville Avenue and then as a salesperson for Your Business Software, one of Dallas’s first PC software retailers. He was let go less than a year later after meeting with a client to solicit new business rather than opening the store.
Cuban founded his own company, MicroSolutions, with the assistance of Your Business Software customers. Initially, MicroSolutions was a system integrator and software reseller. Carbon Copy, Lotus Notes, and CompuServe were among the first technologies introduced by the company. Perot Systems was one of the company’s largest clients.
Cuban married Tiffany Stewart in a private ceremony in Barbados in September 2002. They have two daughters who were born in 2003 and 2006, as well as a son who was born in 2009. They live in a 24,000-square-foot (2,200-square-meter) mansion in Dallas’ Preston Hollow neighborhood.
